I stayed in this hotel for 13 nights half board. Customer service was excellent, they go above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable, welcome and enjoying your stay. There's 24h reception as well. Special thanks to the kitchen and dinning staff who looked after me so well. The food was excellent, I had a great variety of mains every day. The rest was buffet style and it was also fantastic. The room was spacious ,modern but also charming , it was cleaned daily and it was well equipped. The only fault regarding the room: there was no hair drier? And it was listed online that there was. I had to buy one. I was lucky to be surprised with having a little seaview from my balcony! The hotel is in the second row of properties which means is not right by the sea ( but its just a 3 mins walk so it's fine) I was not expecting a seaview but my room was facing a gap where the road to the beach is, So as a solo traveler that made a great positive difference as I was able to enjoy the little balcony with the seaview every day :) They have an awesome singer and guitarist on Saturday night! The drinks at the bar are great and reasonably priced. I chose this hotel because it's small and quiet, 10 of my days were flawless! However..... they do accept group bookings this time a year (which I did not expect )and there were approximately 25 sixteen y/o teens or maybe more in my last 3 nights! they made noise , played ball against my room wall and window for hours, left a wet trail all over the hotel and destroyed the peace for a lot of us. They took over the whole pool area , the buffet area and most areas really... It went from perfection to madness. I complained to the reception but it seems that group bookings represent good business to them and they intend to receive the group of ''athletes" every year around April / march . So if I'm to visit again I'll make sure it's not when they've taken a group . My recommendation to the hotel would be not to allow this sort of bookings , you had many very classy and polite guest there and these large groups of teens do not match that clientele . If you're not willing to do that then at least you should let guest know in advance as i would not booked if I had known. Apart from this , it would have been 5 stars. And I would go back again (when there's no groups booked) Thank you for everything. Astrid

Stayed here on a solo trip for a couple of nights (half-board) and was largely happy with how it went. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room, although basic, was clean and confortable, with free water and tea/coffee. The food was good with a decent amount of choice everyday. WiFi easy to connect to and available everywhere onsite. A small pool which I didn't use, but overall, a nice and comfy atmosphere. The hotel is ideally located in the centre of town, with the beach about 3 minutes away (on foot), and loads of restaurants/bars around. There's also a Minipreço and SPAR nearby for groceries. The train station is also walkable; Tavira (~€5 return) and Faro (~€10 return) are recommended. Obviously, due to the location, noise could be heard from the surrounding area at night but it wasn't too bad. The walls were also quite thin, but I managed to sleep just fine. Overall, a pleasant stay in a pleasant town.

I received a warm welcome on arrival and found the Moroccan, minimalistic style of the hotel interesting and unusual for Montegordo. This was my sixth holiday in Montegordo and my first time in this hotel. My room had two comfortable beds, a TV, a tiny fridge and a coffee maker, but no kettle. It had a hanging rail but no drawers for clothes. The bathroom had a decent shower but was in desperate need of a repaint and a new door. The room was serviced each day with fresh towels, bed making and rubbish removal. I was allocated a room on the second floor at the corner of the building and I picked up all the loud noise from the square outside and the restaurants around the square- no peace until after midnight most nights. I had breakfast each day and the atmosphere in the dining room was relaxed and comfortable. Food choice was good and plentiful. I could have eaten dinner at 15 euros but the menu posted each day didn't tempt me. There are plenty of places to eat in Montegordo and Vila Real. All in all, a small, friendly, reasonably comfortable hotel which is let down by the noise from the square outside and the unnecessary 2 euro per day charge for a room safe which is not bolted to the wall. I won't be returning as there are hotels close by which offer better value for money and a sea view.

I stayed at Casablanca for five nights. This was my first solo trip and I really had the best stay. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, I wanted to do a day trip to Tavira (high recommend) but wasn’t too sure about where the train station was and how to get there. They got Google maps up for me and showed me exactly how to get there via street view and told me which train and what to expect. I got there and back with no problems and only cost me €5 for a return. The rooms are basic but clean and fresh. When I arrived it was late at night but noticed my balcony door wouldn’t lock, I explained this to reception and they came and had a look but the lock had broke. They changed my room without hesitation. I booked for bed and breakfast, the breakfast was great. Plenty of choice and rotated on a daily basis again staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I spent my days by the beach or wandering around as I had made some friends on the first night but the pool appeared clean with plenty of sunbeds. It is a little pool but that suits with the hotel being on the smaller scale. It is a great location with the beach only a three minute walk and is surrounded by bars and restaurants. A perfect little get away to recharge the batteries! Thank you for making my stay excellent!

We stayed 8 nights from 1st April. The rooms have been updated with walk in shower, bed so comfy with immaculate bedding, towels & so clean. We requested first floor double room above reception & got exactly that. Dolce gusto coffee/tea machine in room, complimentary pods & bottle of water on arrival, more can be ordered at reception. Amazing staff throughout Casablanca so helpful in every way, thank you. We stayed b&b & thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts. Snacks available also during the day were very good, recommend the cheeseburger, fries & toasties. Drinks very good value, large beer & glass of rosé €5-90. Weather was great! Could have done with more drawer space & a shelf in bathroom. Also great to see the pool is no longer covered now & the beach is a must with the impressive boardwalk only few mins walk away. Hope to visit again Paula & David 👍
