Hotel Riu Caribe

Don’t listen to bad reviews! Probably the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Literally every member of staff was friendly from start to finish. Rooms very clean and cleaned daily. Also I’ve seen people moan about the pool chairs saying not enough space. We never had this problem unless we went out later in the day and even then we still found somewhere to sit/lay even if it wasn’t right by the pools. Few rowdy youngsters from time to time but what do you expect in Cancun plus people watching can be quite funny. Food was really good always lots of choices and they do mix it up from time to Time plus always food from outside bar and sports bar to have. No complaints at all. Best holiday I’ve had in quite some time. Only negative and it’s not on the hotel just Cancun in general and probably most places around the world is make sure you take plenty of sun cream, paracetamol, and anything chemist related as the prices in the shops are crazy. Think I paid £35 for paracetamol, throat sweets and nasel spray. Which back home would be more like £8.

I would have given this a 5 star if they entertainment was better. Everything else was great.......from the premium drinks to the food to the beach and location. The place was redone a few years ago and it is beautiful. Watch out though for the slippery tile around the pool. The Riu party is great for younger people and it is repetitive. They need to change the music up to accommodate all age groups even though we still attended a couple days (5 ladies). The nightly entertainment in the theatre was meh!

We recently stayed at the Riu in Mexico, and while the hotel has undergone a beautiful restoration with modern, stylish rooms and commendable cleanliness throughout, we left feeling disappointed by the overall experience. Unfortunately, the service did not match the sleek new surroundings. Staff were generally disengaged and, at times, downright rude. There was little sense of hospitality — no personal connection, no warmth. We felt more like a room number than a welcomed guest. The atmosphere across the resort was cold, repetitive and lacked any genuine vibe. While the pool parties were energetic, they catered heavily to a younger, party-hard crowd. If you're hoping for a refined or sophisticated experience — either in dining or evening entertainment — this is not the place. The resort seems geared toward quantity over quality, and it shows. Overall, it’s a visually impressive resort, but beneath the surface, the heart of hospitality is missing. We expected more from the Riu brand. We had an amazing time. The staff was awesome, parties were out of control fun. Food was great. Just wish the pool was a little bigger. Queen size beds were a little small as well

Great food, loved some of the employees. The Steakhouse was our favorite restaurant. The water was amazing, The overall resort was beautiful very clean.
