Hotel Seiser Alm Plaza

W Seiser przycisk ALM jest jednym z najbardziej malowniczych zakątków w malownicze Dolomity. Idealne na piesze wędrówki i dla rodzin. Hotel jest dobrze położony, wygodny i dobry stosunek jakości do ceny. Byłam na weekend i wakacje Ferragosto hotel zorganizował specjalne 6 oczywiście uroczysta kolacja dla wszystkich gości, co było naprawdę wspaniale.

The rooms are outdated and really needs a serious renovation. The same can be said for the restaurant and bar area which is dark and old fashioned. The heating in the rooms could not be regulated and it was boiling hot every night so we couldn’t sleep. Similarly in the restaurant it was often very warm both at breakfast and in the evening so you could only sit in a T shirt almost. The hotel lacks any real play area for children inside. For a family hotel this is a real problem as kids play in the bar and disturb other clients. Dinner service in the evening is extremely slow even if you pre-order your dinner already in the morning. Food quality is average for being in Italy. The menu for children was the same the entire week, with mostly unhealthy food like würstel and French fries and same pasta every day. Positive things is the location of the hotel right next to the pists and the staff in the restaurant are very friendly (but in the bar there was often no staff at all).

Came by car up all the curves to Compatch, were shown a parking place behind the hotel. We had told we would come in late, and the staff had prepared a cold meal in the room! Very nice area for all kinds of walking and cycling ++, we tried both and had both short and long hikes. The paths are well marked with signs and well prepared, even the ones for «experts». Bought a map in the shop next door - recommended! The same shop also have bikes, normal and el and with all wanted equipment to rent. Only minus is that the breakfast meny could have been more varied with more vegetables, but plus for salat bar before dinners.

We stayed here for 2 nights during a walking tour of the Dolomites. Our first impressions were disappointing due to the unfriendly welcome and the fact that it seemed like a chore to have to check us in. This was compounded by no offer of assistance with our baggage. The restaurant staff were better and the food overall was pretty good though breakfast was much more limited than many in the area. The fact that they felt they had to put a notice up at breakfast saying people would be charged for taking any food out seemed insulting and reinforced the underlying and unfriendly culture. Far from a bad hotel but a bit of a refresher on customer service wouldn’t go amiss.

This hotel is a little dated but has all the essentials and after a hard day's walking we really enjoyed having a bath rather than a shower. Although busy during the day, Compatsch is quiet in the evening when all the visitors have gone home. We very much enjoyed the food even though the salad buffet for pre-starters was a little basic. The cooked choices were all good and the red Lagrein wine remained our choice for the rest of the holiday.
