I visited this hotel with my husband , whilst on holiday our favourite thing to do is eat out and enjoy great food , we chose this hotel because of all the great reviews about the food. Before we arrived we tried to book the restaurants online we were able to book two ( the meze and Italian) , we contacted the hotel about this and they said they were closed because it was end of season , I found this annoying as people had been staying there the week prior to our visit and wrote reviews about all of the restaurants, I don’t understand, why as the hotel was closing at the end of our week, why the restaurants could not be open for one more week , or ( and this might be a good idea for management to keep in mind for next year) why they could not have opened each restaurant on different evenings so their guests were still able to enjoy all the a la carte restaurants that should have been on offer , I got half the restaurants but did not pay half the price . we were very disappointed. When we arrived we were given an upgraded room which was beautiful and we really appreciated this , the Manager spoke to us on our first day there ( although each time we saw him in the bar or restaurant after this he did not speak to us only phoned our room a couple of times , which were not convenient times to speak) we told him we were really happy about the upgrade and that we had brought chocolates with us for the staff as we had had contact with them before we arrived and did not want to be classed as people who moaned although we had expressed our disappointment about the restaurants . We carried on with our holiday and the hotel is beautiful , it is very clean in most areas although the seats in reception and bar and some of the rugs were drink stained which was prob down to the end of the season but a five star hotel should keep these clean at all times . The staff were lovely , the girls on the main bar (sorry didn’t catch your names) blonde lady during the day and dark haired lady in the evening were brilliant , the bar manger was also very knowledgeable about his drinks and we joined a mixology class with him which was fun. The seating area outside the main bar was beautiful during the day and evening. We did not sit around the pool and I would think it gets pretty busy in the height of season ( and the pool was a strange colour) but the pool bar area was nice and they provided snacks here throughout the day and ice creams . The food in the Meze was fantastic just be careful not to order too much at first as you can order more if needed, this restaurant to one side is also a snack bar with food and serves a great drinks selection. The Buffet had a lot of added extras which I thought were great , champagne at breakfast if you wanted , a juicer for fresh orange juice , beautiful olives table, spice table these were all added extras, the salads were great , unfortunately I feel towards the end of our week the food started to go down hill , twice I had stale bread at breakfast and cold eggs , the temperature of the buffet was not great , I have been to many all inclusive hotels and never expect it to be piping hot but cold food is not good . Yet again a restaurant disappointment you could not book the a la carte restaurant for the last night , this was a shame and it was not because of lack of staff because the staff were in the restaurant cleaning and clearing , the buffet had no atmosphere as not many guests left and food not great, and I did not see the point of the two Greek dancers as entertainment to a handful of people, it would have been better to have had a disco or singer in the bar to create a nice atmosphere for the guests and staffs last night , but it was a really drab last night. Our last day and we got up early for breakfast,as we had to pack , before we were leaving we went to the snack bar at the meze to see if we could get a snack before we left for the airport (buffet did not open till one) and we were leaving just before , no snacks just more staff clearing up, we went to the pool bar and no snacks , we went to the main bar and they were already clearing the bottles from the shelves , I am not sure why this all had to be done whilst you still had guests in the hotel , this was the last day most guests would have left by the afternoon , it would have been much nicer not to make the guests feel in the way and start the clearing process later or the next day . I have experienced being the last bus away from a hotel in Greece at the end of the season and every one of it’s a la carte restaurants were open all week and as we were leaving it was like a party , glasses of champagne and snacks right until the last guest left . I believe this hotel could and probably is amazing , the reviews even say it is, just don’t go at the end of the season . I hope the management don’t read this as just a moaning review and take onboard some of the comments and also don’t think that I should have come to them to tell them about the points I have made because the point of a review is to give future guests knowledge of the hotel not just so the hotel doesn’t get left negative feedback , if I had gone to this hotel at a different time of the season I believe and hope it would be great .

Polecam.

Super wakacje w luksusowym hotelu.

We had such a fantastic stay at Domes Aulus Zante. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, our room was gorgeous and the hotel was beautiful. We put our daughter in kids club for 2 days and the team there were amazing, so patient when our daughter was a bit scared and made it really fun for the kids. There was always a manager available if we needed help and I thought it was great the way there were always guest services staff coming around in the morning to ask guests if there was anything they needed. We got caught up in the UK air systems crashing and had to stay an extra day and the team at the hotel were fantastic at helping us find another room to stay in and making it stress free. The restaurants were fantastic, especially the mezze restaurant, although I find the rota system they were on a bit frustrating and limiting. As a side note, I would say that the pita truck is totally underused and should have been open way more. The interiors of the hotel were really beautiful and nicely designed, as were the restaurants, especially the outdoor seating areas of the restaurants. The outside seating area for the main bar that people go to in the evenings is lovely but way to small for the number of rooms/guests, the inside area is large but no one wanted to sit inside on a lovely summer night. It's a shame that the musical entertainment has to be inside rather than outside but I don't know if that's because of the hotel's location next to a turtle breeding area or just because the outside bar area is so limited in size. The site is beautiful and quite wild rather than manicured, but stunning. And being right be the beach is incredible. The beach was fantastic, and you could go out quite far before it got deep, great for kids! Our room was really lovely, the bed was so comfortable, beautifully designed. We had a suite with a living room space and our daughter slept on the sofa bed which was also really comfortable. The location from the airport was amazing, we never had an issue with noise from airplanes but the short transfer time was a dream. I would say that this is a really fantastic 4* hotel rather than a 5* hotel, there are just a few things that I'd expect from a 5* hotel that weren't on offer. - A nicer pool and larger pool area (although someone said this is because of it's location near a turtle conservation site which means planning has been denied for pool related updates, not sure if that's true) - better poolside food options, most days there was only a very small buffet at the restaurant by the pool and normally I'd expect to be able to order food and drinks to your sun lounger at a 5* star hotel. I'd say that the indoor space where the poolside buffet was served was also a bit basic and tired looking - more food stations with food being cooked fresh or served at the buffet for example omelette stations in the morning or a large joint of meat being carved fresh to order A pet peeve of mine at any hotel like this is letting people come down in the morning and reserve sun loungers in the morning which means if people come to the pool later there's no where to sit. This was particularly problematic here were the pool area wasn't that big. At a lot of the 5* hotel I have been to recently reserving sun loungers in this way for extended periods of time hasn't been allowed and it means that there is a nice natural flow of people coming and going and you never have to worry you won't be able to find a spot. But this might not bother others. None of that should take away from the fact it was a fantastic hotel, we had a brilliant holiday, and we would absolutely come back. We would 100% recommend but if there are some of the extras you expect from a 5* hotel then you might not get them here so worth calling and checking.

We went with two other couples in October the week it was closing. It was a great experience, the staff were excellent, polite and helpful. The food was great, especially the a la carte by the beach. It was that good we got to go twice.. OK the hotel wasn't running at full capacity and we were not displeased in any way. I have read some reviews and to be honest I think they would complain just for the sake of it. All 3 couples are planning to visit the same time next year. The hotel was clean, the rooms were comfortable and clean, the restaurants were adequately staffed, the main restaurant food was a high standard and rarely repeated. Overall it is as good as any 5 star places I have stayed at, and look forward to our return.
