We booked a VIP lakeside cottage, what we got was dirty and basic. Even after reporting our concerns, a rude house keeper turned up, wiped the floor again and left. The banister was unsecure, missing smoke alarm in one bedroom, and mould growing on the wall in one room. The towels included in the VIP service are paper thin and very small, not a bath towel by any means. Really disappointed. Reading other reviews, I'm certainly not surprised cleanliness is mentioned time and time again. Evidently no one from European center parcs reads trip advisor as it would have been addressed by now if they did. We also paid for the half board option so the ability to eat at the buffet each night, but the food, whilst ok is not labelled. This means you are guessing what food there is and most importantly what the allergens are. This is not the European center parcs experience I've come to expect, so poor.

Our trip to Center Parcs with our little ones was a blast! The place had a cozy vibe, but our accommodation was a tad small and had a few ant visitors, which wasn't a huge surprise. One thing that kept us on our toes were the stairs with those wide gaps – definitely not toddler-proof! But hey, the kids had a blast at the play parks and the huge soft play area – total lifesaver, especially on rainy days. And swimming? Oh, they loved it! Sure, the restaurants were okay (not the best food) but they were pricey. Thankfully, we found an Aldi nearby for some budget-friendly snacks. And a half-hour drive to Bruges? Day trip jackpot! Overall, it was a fun stay, but we've had even better times at other Center Parcs spots or Bluestone in Wales

The park and activities for this Center Parcs were good for small children. There is a lovely woodland walk to the beach within a 20 minute walking distance from the main site. The staff were friendly. The site is smaller than you would expect and lots of the activities are in the same small area. My son loved the soft play. What really lets Parc De Haan down is the accomodation. We paid for a premium cottage but what we recieved was very basic and unclean. We got the bed linen as part of the package but no towels, but we bought our own anyway. Upon first glance you would say it was nice enough but upon future inspection the quality of the cleaning was very poor. There was lost property from the previous people staying left in the cottage that hadn't been removed and the mircowave oven still had chips left inside. My son dropped some milk on the floor and when we wiped the floor the wipe was black. The fire was also being repaired and left open and exposed which may not have been safe for smaller children. The windows were dirty and rubbish had been left in the garden. It was difficult to find out who to speak to and air concerns as the building on the map marked information/reception was closed. After reading previous reviews upon returning home, that mention the same complaint about cleanliness, I would have thought this would have been addressed by now. As good a time we had in the facilites in the main complex and exploring the surrounding area we won't be returning to this center parcs due to poor standard of cleanliness in the cottages.
